What NOT to Do When Taking Diet Pills

Taking diet pills, however, requires a bit of responsibility on your part. There are some things that you simply should not do when on diet pills. Here they are.

Skip lots of meals.

Food craving reducers can make you want to do this. But eating less means less nutrition and no energy. Not a good situation, regardless of your weight-loss goals. Make sure you eat a modest breakfast and at least one other nutritious meal during the day. And don’t forget to take a good multivitamin to keep your body’s nutrients supplied.

Drink less water.

Diuretic effects come along with some diet pills. These flush your system pretty quickly of much-needed liquids. Stay hydrated by drinking the recommended amount of water daily—at least eight cups, or more if you perspire frequently.

Ignore serious side effects.

Diet pills often come with side effects, and these are not to be ignored. Although the typical, yet annoying dry mouth, headache, restlessness, etc., may creep up from time to time, it is essential that you report any occurrences of seizures, heart palpitations, tightness of chest, increased heart-rate or other more serious incidents.

Take diet pills for a long, long time.

Diet pills are not intended for long-term use. They are intended as a short-term weight loss program. Using diet pills for a long time may lead to a higher occurrence of fatal side effects. After three months (maximum) stop.

Eat. A lot.

Diet pills are not your ticket to binge eating. That is part of your past life. Eating a lot will counter the effect of the diet pills, and get you in trouble once you discontinue the diet pills.

Breastfeed.

If you are breastfeeding, you ought not to be using diet pills. The diet pills contain strong drugs that will adversely affect the baby’s health. Most likely, your baby does not need to lose weight.

Use while pregnant.

If you become pregnant while using weight loss pills, discontinue use immediately. What you take into your body is integrally linked to your baby’s health. And anything you take in, your baby is absorbing. Diet pills can create serious birth defects in unborn babies.
